  • House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes of California suggested he has a plan to target deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein and FBI director Christopher Wray.
  • Nunes said he has a "plan to hold in contempt and to impeach" the men. His comments one day after federal agents raided the home and office of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer.
  • Nunes also railed against special counsel Robert Mueller, who he accused of being "good at leaking, but not so good at finding major felony leakers."

House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes of California suggested he has a plan to target deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein and FBI director Christopher Wray.

"We're not going to just hold in contempt, we will have a plan to hold in contempt and to impeach," Nunes said to Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Tuesday evening.

"We're not messing around here," Nunes continued.

Nunes' statement comes after he reportedly encouraged Republican lawmakers to hold FBI director Christopher Wray and deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein in contempt, should the Justice Department refuse to provide him an unredacted two-page document showing the justification for the Russia probe.

"We're at a boiling point where we need this," Nunes said.

"I can tell you this. We are going to get the document," Nunes said. "We're going to get the two pages. So they can either cough them up now, or it will get really complicated starting tomorrow night."

Nunes also expressed frustration at the stream of information on special counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing investigation into the possible collusion between Donald Trump's campaign and Russia.

Following the FBI's raid on the offices of Trump's longtime personal attorney, Michael Cohen, on Monday, information about how law-enforcement officials were tipped off, and the justification for the raid leaked to several news outlets.

"And so, it seems like the special counsel is good at leaking, but not so good at finding major felony leakers," Nunes said, apparently suggesting that Mueller himself leaked details about the Cohen raid to the media.

"As I said before, whenever I see evidence of Russian collusion, I'll be the first person standing out there in the steps of the Capitol; that I found Russian collusion with the Trump campaign," Nunes said.

"I haven't found it yet, but I've found a whole lot of other stuff that always puts DOJ and FBI in a bad light, unfortunately."
